Super Bowl Sunday.
Another year, and another Patriots filled Super Bowl has come and gone. It may not have been as exciting as everyone would’ve hoped for but it was different to see such a strong defensive game. I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I know exactly what I’m talking about but I figured I wold throw in something to sound a little football smart. Did it work? 🙂 My boyfriend, Keith, has taught me everything and anything I know about sports because otherwise I would be lost. As much as I may not understand about sports, I still can enjoy them with what I do understand!
Even being one of the people that don’t completely follow the game, I find the Super Bowl to be fun! The idea of friends, family, or whoever it is spent with, getting together as if it were a holiday is great. I’ve heard over and over how some people actually think it should be considered a national holiday. I can’t say I would be against it but it would be even better to get the following Monday off! This day provides something for everyone, the game, the commercials, the half time show, the food! I clearly get that it’s all for entertainment to make money but even if they are doing it just for that, it’s still an excuse to get together and have a party.
Sports have such an impact on our lives that we even root for a team that may not even be ours. Whether it be, you’re a fan, you just want one of the teams to lose, you bet on the team you’re expecting to win, you’re cheering for someone to win no matter what. It’s thrilling to still be involved, and captivated by the game itself. As for me, Keith has made me into a Colts fan so unfortunately our team didn’t make it. I decided to cheer for the Rams. It’s not that I hate Tom Brady or the Patriots, I just like to see something different. A team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl in nineteen years is different and also more intriguing. A team that won it just two years ago, and has the most wins in the past years… not very different.
I hope everyone was able to see past the boredom of the game to have a great Super Bowl night! Congrats to the Patriots fans! Better luck for the rest of us next year!
See ya,
Samm 🙂
