Face Mask.

My mom bought me a bunch of face masks for Christmas. From coconut to tomato to grape seed. I have never used one of these before, I have never tried an avocado mask, or any kind of mask for that matter. I’ve always wanted to so this was my chance! Thanks, Mom :). I chose from my selection at random and picked green tea. Sounds like an ideal choice for a first time mask. I figured since this was a first time experience, why not share what I thought of it.

First off, I didn’t know how exactly to apply the mask, probably sounds silly but true. I was so nervous taking it out of the bag and then peeling it away from the plastic. Knowing me, it was bound to rip, but guess what? It didn’t! Going good so far. As shown in the picture above, I clearly didn’t know how to apply it properly since the picture shows that there is no smoothness from the mask to my face AT ALL. But you know what they say, practice makes perfect.

It says to keep the mask on for ten to fifteen minutes so I always like to go with the lengthier time, just so I know I get the full effect. Since I didn’t apply perfectly, the mask actually started to get closer to my eye as I blinked. It didn’t get close enough to really bother me but it did start to feel slightly uncomfortable. I felt a bit of a burning near the very corner of my eye. Be sure that if and when you use these or any kind of masks, you really avoid contact with your eyes (as mentioned on the label, lol).

The smell was simple, not really much to it. I’m totally a scent kind of person, I’m all about smells. When I was younger I would pick out a shampoo by first opening the cap, and smelling. I would do that with five or more, if need be, haha. That’s still my way of selecting shampoo to this day. I like to change it up with different kinds so I have to know I’m committing to the right smell! I don’t know if that was just me but yeah, all about the smells! And for that, I was hoping for this explosion of scent to come out of the bag as I ripped it open. I think I’ll have to try that out again on the next one because green tea doesn’t have much of an aroma anyway…

While the mask was on my face, it felt refreshing. I don’t think I would say it felt that the benefits were working since it was my first time using one but it seemed good enough. I’m going to continue to use them to see if it works going forward. I’m all for deep cleansing and glowing skin so let’s do it!

Once I took the mask off and rubbed in the excess moisture, I started to smell it. It smelt pretty good actually so I was pretty satisfied. It is suggested to use a face mask one to three times a week so I’m going to try to keep up with that and see how my skin is feeling in weeks to come! Let me know what kind of face masks you guys use, and if they have helped you!

See ya,
Samm 🙂
