Five Places To Go If Thanksgiving Dinner Goes Wrong.

We all know that things don’t always go as planned, as much as we would like them too. Especially on a big night like Thanksgiving, there are so many things that can happen to ruin the entire meal. The turkey is burnt, the mashed potatoes are too lumpy, you forget to cook the stuffing, the dog got to a dish or two… so many things that could go wrong! But luckily there are some places that you can turn to if things go awry!

I made a list of five places you can go if the unexpected happens. I really tried to select places that will serve Thanksgiving dinner but also included a couple that just serve their regular menu items. I provided a little detail about each of the five places so you have an idea of what they have to serve you. I also wanted to just bullet out a couple additional, just to give an idea of what will be open for dinner on Thanksgiving.

Boston Market.

I eat Boston Market from time to time and I really enjoy their food. It’s almost the closest thing you can get to home cooking as a chain restaurant. They have chicken, turkey, meatloaf for your meat and so many sides. There’s mashed potatoes, corn, creamed spinach, steamed veggies, soup, and more! Boston Market offers catering, along with a Thanksgiving menu during this time of year. They serve individual meals and a family feast option! They even have pie… yumm!

Local Diner.

Diners are ALWAYS open, and they’re everywhere, in New York at least. A diner is the perfect place to turn for a good meal since you can get anything! A burger, pancakes, a wrap, a hot turkey sandwich, if you want to stick with the Thanksgiving meal. There are some people that don’t really enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving food so this is another reason it so great that a diner has such a variety.

Cracker Barrel.

Although they may not be local to me, Cracker Barrel seems like an ideal restaurant to turn to. They have Thanksgiving dinner catering, as well as meals to-go. I have never been here before but I have heard from many people that the food is great. The family meal to-go includes two roasted turkey breasts, three sides, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, cranberry relish, rolls and two pies, a pumpkin and a pecan. Sounds pretty great to me!

Wawa.

Okay, okay. Hear me out. I’ve never been to a Wawa BUT I’ve been told by a few different people that they have this amazing turkey sandwich this time of year called, the Wawa Gobbler. They definitely have it now, until when, I’m unsure but I have a feeling they will be open this Thursday and will have enough Gobblers to go around. This sandwich comes with hot turkey slices, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce on a white bread sub. I haven’t had this yet but I am waiting for the day that I get the chance to try it. I’m sure most people wouldn’t think of this as their go-to if Thanksgiving dinner is a flop but it seems like it could be a quick and inexpensive alternative for the family!

IHOP.

Alright, IHOP is not the first place that comes to mind when you think “Thanksgiving food” but still a great option! They actually have a roasted turkey dinner, who knew? This comes with hot turkey with gravy, two sides and I believe a side of cranberry sauce. But if everyone in the family is not up to trying a turkey dinner from IHOP, there are always more options. Who doesn’t love breakfast food for dinner? I know I love having the option to have pancakes or an omelette for dinner on occasion. Plus, there are burgers too! How could you forgt IHOB? This is a good choice to satisfy the whole family.

Just some other places that are open this coming Thursday!

  • Applebee’s
  • Denny’s
  • Subway
  • Hooters

I do hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and that there isn’t any reason that you will have to turn to a public food place when you spent so much time at the grocery store and in the kitchen. In the event that you do though, you have this to turn to! Or maybe, you’re just the kind of family that doesn’t want to go through the hassle of preparing a grand feast… you know what? I don’t blame you! In that case, another great reason for you to turn to a place listed here, haha.

But whatever meal you have, I hope it is delicious!
Happy Thanksgiving, all 🙂 .

See ya,
Samm 🌻
