Monday Motivation!

I think we could all benefit from a little extra motivation lately… although I have been keeping high spirits, it really has been hard for me to feel driven. I have become so use to being home, being in sweats, going to sleep at whatever time, that I can’t help but just be lazy. That is not how I want to feel. I want to use this post for positivity and encouragement for not only me, but for you guys too!

So let’s not get down that it’s a Monday! Let’s think about all we are going to achieve today, all the happiness we are going to feel, all the positivity we are going to spread and let’s take on the day!

What Makes Monday… Monday?

“Yayyy, Monday!”… said no one, ever. Mondays are a hard day of the week for most, which is understandable. The weekend is over and back to the reality, in a sense. It has been proven that Mondays are harder for us for reasons like, sleep patterns, a hated job, and trying to make a change.

Realistically, we are supposed to adjust our bodies to awake at the same time each day. On the weekends, we tend to sleep in and that messes with our internal schedule. The majority of people cannot stand their job for whatever the reason may be. Once Monday comes back around it resets the work week. “Eh… I’ll start Monday.” Sound familiar? We are more than likely to try to make changes such as, start a diet or quit a habit at the start of a new week, being Monday. It is something you more than likely don’t want to do so this leaves a negative impact.

What Motivates You?

I want to change this… I don’t want to continuously think “uhh… Monday again”. So on this Monday, or the next (depending when this goes up and whenever you read it 🙂 ), let’s make it a better one! I want you to think to yourself… what motivates YOU? This may be easier to answer for some people rather than others. Maybe it’s learning something new, maybe going for a run, maybe meeting your goals.

Something that really helps me is accomplishing something! If you don’t know what motivates you, make a list. A list of things you need to do and prioritize, easiest task at the top and most important at the bottom. I know… “Samm… since I’m prioritizing, shouldn’t I put the most important at the top?”

Think of it this way. If I add – put in a load of laundry, throw out garbage, and paint my nails, I feel SO good about myself that I just got three easy things out of the way! My most important thing, my bottom of the list item is to finish a blog for the week, I now feel so accomplished that I checked off all those little tasks off my list, and now I can focus on the last thing! I feel driven to finish and feel good about doing it! This worked for me the other day. I didn’t feel motivated to do anything but when I slowly got the little things done I was motivated to keep going and get the big item done.

Whether it be working out, going to the grocery store, making that phone call, etc. as your bigger item, I think making a list and getting the small tasks done puts you in a better mood and can push you to stop procrastinating and get what needs to be done, done!

Let’s Get Through The Day.

Something else that is probably the best that you can do on a Monday is STAY POSITIVE! Figuring out what motivates you overall is a great way to find some positivity. Keep happy thoughts, drink that cup of coffee/tea, remember that the day will end and Tuesday is not too far away! Maybe even start your Monday on Sunday by going to sleep a little earlier, and you feel even more refreshed with that extra sleep.

Get yourself that bigger cup of coffee.
Wear that outfit that makes you feel your BEST.
Buy yourself something nice.
Get flowers or a plant for your workplace (if you can, of course).
Remind yourself that you are a beautiful, blooming sunflower 🌻

Motivational Quotes.

Typically for motivation people tend to look to quotes that make them feel good! Let’s take a look at some ourselves 🙂 :

  • “Monday is a state of mind. Put on your positive pants and get stuff done.”
  • “This is your Monday morning reminder that you are amazing and you can handle anything.”
  • “As we start each day, it is up to each of us to choose joy and happiness to encompass our entire day.”

So let’s do this, let’s start Monday 😉 .

See ya,
Samm 🌻
