Ridiculous Hacks That Are Actually Useful.

We have all heard those tips and tricks that we think are completely bizarre until we try them out and they work SO well! There are some hacks I have learned throughout my life that I use to this day. I haven’t tried every single one but of the ones that I have, THEY WORK! I have shared some with others and they don’t believe me, just by the looks I get. I don’t blame them BUT these personally work for me and that is why I use them when they are necessary! I hope they work for you too!

Tilting Your Head Sideways Gets Rid of Hiccups.

I have been looked at funny when I tell this method to people. Everyone has their own tactics to get rid of hiccups but for me this one is the most effective. To try to scare hiccups away, hold my breath for ten seconds, or even swallow a beverage with a pencil in my teeth… nope, doesn’t work for me!

All you need for this method is a drink of some sort. You will tilt your head halfway to your shoulder, take a sip of your drink and swallow. I keep my head titled while I swallow, because I think that helps with it.

Hold Eyelid And Move Eye To Get Something Out.

This is a trick that my dad taught my mom, she has taught me and I have shared with countless other people. This sounds ridiculous because you look silly trying to do it but I swear it works!

When you feel there is something in your eye, take your finger, close your bothered eye and hold your finger on your eyelid. Just lightly put your finger to your eyelid, you don’t have to press. Move your eye in a ‘up, right, down, left’ motion. You can alternate the other way if you are more comfortable with that but just as long as your eye is basically making a diamond, it should work! Sometimes it takes a tad longer but it’s worth it.

Dirt For Bee Stings.

I actually can’t say I have tried this one but Keith’s grandma told me about it because she swears by it! I have not yet gotten a bee sting… *knock on wood*. With it being Spring/Summer all the bugs are back out to bother us as they do each and every year. If you happen to get a bee sting, grab some dirt and spit on it. Yes, it sounds gross but mix it together to make it wet. Rub your mud concoction on the bee sting and it will reduce the pain, as well as the swelling!

Putting Bread In With Fresh Baked Goods.

I don’t bake very often so I haven’t tried this many times BUT of the times I have, it seemed to work! By adding bread to the container that you put your baked goods in, this will keep them fresher for a longer period and more moist! Even if it is just by a few days, I personally think this is a great trick. Who wouldn’t want their sweets to last that much longer, if you don’t eat them in one sitting that is? 🙂

Hot Water Draws Out A Splinter.

Off all my years that I have been getting splinters, I never knew that this was helpful. This is the last one I added because I feel like this is something that most people know and I was just a little late to the game. Hot water softens the skin which allows you to reach the splinter easier to pull it out. You can use tweezers or even tape to grab that little sucker!

Rubbing Chapstick On A Paper Cut.

I can’t say I get paper cuts too often but if I do I at least know I’ll have chapstick. I ALWAYS carry chapstick! Rubbing chapstick on a paper cut helps to stop the pain, almost immediately. Not only stop the pain but it aids in healing it as well! I’m sure not many of us get paper cuts all too often but I’m sure it can work just as well for almost any small cut.

If you do try any of their ridiculous sounding hacks out, be sure to let me know! Even if you feel like they didn’t work out, I would still love to hear that you gave it a try 🙂 .

See ya,
Samm 🌻
